Two very rare images from Shanghai from c. 1890!

Two vivid street scenes from Shanghai showing

Lloyd Road / Nanking Road with the Laiwah & Co. Photo Store at the street corner

AND

an unidentified street at the corner to Lloyd Road.

Two large vintage albumen prints (22.1 x 28 cm and 20.8 x 26.5 cm, respectively)

mounted to the recto and to the verso (back-to-back)

of one heavy cardboard (23 x 29.5 cm);

without photographer´s credit (but most likely by Laiwah & Co.).

As visible on the scans the mount is cropped almost until the upper edge of the second print and

the mount is slightly bumped at two corners;

otherwise the prints are in a very nice and clean condition

with rich nice tones and only small signs of use.

Please note that the white streak visible in the first image is due to a crack in the glass negative.

The photograh and its surface are completely intact and there is no crease or fold in the actual image.
