This is an antique 1914 DHG NY US Version German Cross Ring.  It is stamped Pat NOV 24, 1914.  The inscription reads: "To prove my allegiance to the old Fatherland, I gave him gold for this iron"  This is part of the "I Gave Gold for Iron" program during WWI program encouraging Germans in the US to support the war and turn in gold jewelry.  There is a German Iron Cross in the center with a leaf detail on the sides and 1914 DHG NY (Deutsche Heimats Gruppe) German Homeland Group organization in New York. I believe it has been sized. It is in the condition I got it and up to you to clean or size it if you would like but it is antique. This sits at almost a size 7.

Because condition is a judgement call, I do my best to describe and photograph problems but it is possible I might unintentionally miss something.
