Description of this plate in the 1981 guide -
"Pairpoint's First Fifty Plates" reads:
"This cup plate was commissioned by the Easton Lions Club
of Easton, Massachusetts to commemorate the organization's
50th anniversary & is the first in a series highlighting historic
sites in that town. This design depicts the Soldiers Monument
of South Easton taken from the Town Seal, & the shovels on
the border represent the historic Ames Shovel & Tool Company
of North Easton, makers of the first shovels in America."
