Antique Victoria Carlsbad Made in Austria Floral Transfer Ware Ceramic Bowl Featuring Red and Pale Green Flowers, Gilded and Wavy Edge

Enjoy this piece of history. This is an antique Victoria Carlsbad Austria floral ceramic bowl. The bowl was made in Austria by Victoria Carlsbad (it also has 248 stamped on the bottom). According to LJWorld.com the makers mark that is stamped on the bottom was "The mark was used between 1891 and 1918 by the Victoria Porcelain Factory, operated by Schmidt & Co. in Altrohlau, Bohemia (now Stara Role, Czech Republic).....The pottery made practical as well as decorative porcelain and earthenware. The word “Karlsbad” (sometimes spelled “Carlsbad”) is in some of the factory’s marks because the town of Karlsbad was the center of Bohemia’s porcelain industry. The name of the famous town in any mark improved sales."

This bowl is in good vintage condition (no cracks, chips or crazing, but the gilded edge has worn off in parts and there are two marks in the bowl part - please see pictures). Given its age, hand washing is required. It is 7.75" in diameter at the top and a 4" diameter at the bottom, it is 2" tall.

Please look closely at the pictures as they ARE the description. And as always, please feel free to contact me for more information!
