Antique “6 I. Pierce 15 Angel St. 5 Sheffield 996” Pewter Teapot Berry Carving

Gorgeous antique ornate pewter teapot. The bottom is marked with  “6 I. Pierce 15 Angel St. 5 Sheffield 996” with 3 asterisk looking stars and a tree looking marking on side. There is a strawberry and leaves detail on the hinged lid. I'm guessing this is an American piece (New England area) of pewter due to the markings. However I can't find an example of the marking anywhere online. It could be an 1800's piece or earlier. 

There is some marking and wear and denting which is all typical for a piece this old. It looks really nice. Please see pictures for condition detail.
