Neat old cast iron sad iron. This would make a great door stop or decor on it's own. You could restore it and use it if you're old school. Just be careful with that hot handle! My guess is this is from the 1800's but I don't know it's history. 

It's rusted and worn throughout. I polished and de rusted it some but it needs much more work to bring it back to nice condition. The patina adds a rustic feel. Please see pictures for condition detail.
