Bernard Leach, St Ives standardware cake plate (waves / Tree design).

Initially designed by David and Bernard Leach these plates appeared in the Standard ware range from 1946 onwards until the latest 1976.

They did not appear in that year’s catalogue so it was pre 1976.

The plates were made as Cake plates in three sizes - as photographed.

This plate whilst designed by Bernard / David Leach was not made by either of them (or at least there is no conclusive proof they did).

This is a small sized plate 16.5 cms in diameter.

It is in excellent condition without chips, cracks or repairs.

Whilst this plate is standard ware it is sought after hence its price.

I would put it on a par with the ‘Z’ bowl in terms of collecting standard ware but there are more Z bowls than plates on the market.

I can ship abroad, I have included a nominal figure of £35.

I calculate the cost using the most reliable couriers and depending on how fast the customer requires delivery I add £4 onto the cost of postage for my additional time and subtract that from £35 and refund the difference to the buyer.

The cost will vary from country to country from courier to courier and will depend upon weight and size of the parcel when packed.
