Rare 1929 GE I-16 meter that served The City Of Los Angeles Gas & Electric Corp (pre DWP). Meter was located in the basement of an old building either on 8th or 9th/Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles. The bottom of the meter cover ( see photo # 7) originally had the name L.A. G & E Corp. stenciled in large white lettering but has faded over the years and the glass etching could not be removed. The original City of LA code plate with meter number is still attached. The meter has been refurbished to almost new condition, every part cleaned, oiled and then painted the original semi-gloss black. Meter still operates and could be used as a sub meter. With a 150 watt load @120 volts  added to the meter the meter disk rotates slowly. Conductors of rubber and cloth are still attached and meter will come with the original mounting bolt and one new 7 inch copper and lead seal.
