The wool in these socks is produced by Urcuchillay, Somerset's champion pedigree alpaca breeder. The loving attention we devote to our animals is apparent in the quality of fibre produced. We have used the same trusted shearer for eight years and we oversee the shearing of every single animal on this farm. All of our animals have been bred with care to ensure their wellbeing combines with excellent genetics to produce an outstanding end product. We have added a small amount of our very best pedigree Shetland fleeces to give the alpaca fibre some bounce and elasticity.

These socks are manufactured by a family run business, owned since 1895 and is run by the fourth generation of the family within the Leicestershire village of Hathern, using both traditional and modern machinery in the Leicestershire factory.

Originating in the Peruvian highlands, alpacas endure high altitudes with temperature changes of -20 degrees to +30 degrees in a single day. Alpaca fibre is extraordinarily light-weight yet holds high insulating properties. It helps regulate temperature, absorbing moisture and allowing skin to breathe. These highly durable socks provide superb comfort and will ensure your feet remain warm yet fresh.

PLEASE NOTE: Hand wash only (recommended) - or short cold, machine wash.
