USB power protection:
When charging multi-cell batteries, the USB power supply needs to provide high current. NIUP11TA adds USB power protection to ensure that the USB power supply is not damaged. When the USB power supply voltage is pulled down to a certain threshold, the charging current is reduced to protect the USB power supply. When the USB supply voltage rises, adjust the charging current to the maximum value.
Short Circuit Protection and Volt Battery Activation:
NIUP11TA can intelligently detect whether the output is short-circuited and prompt an error. NIUP11TA allows the output to be short-circuited for a long time without damaging any circuit and USB power supply, the output is short-circuited and maintains low power consumption.
NIUP11TA has a -volt battery activation function, and it is judged as a -volt battery when a short circuit is detected for the first time after power-on. The horse activates the -volt battery, and the -volt battery activates and enters the normal charging process. If the -volt battery is not activated, it is judged as a short circuit and the indicator light starts to flash.
Battery Protection:
1) If the battery voltage is higher than 1.35V, the battery is considered to be close to full capacity. If it is not charged after being plugged in, the indicator light will be off to prevent the battery capacity from decreasing due to the memory effect of the nickel-cadmium battery.
2) After connecting the battery, the number of battery packs will be judged. If the voltage is not within the corresponding range, charging will not be performed.
Charging process:
1) Battery insertion detection
When the charger is powered on, it will automatically detect whether a battery is inserted or not. It starts automatically when a -volt battery is detected. An error will be indicated when a short circuit is detected. If the number of battery packs does not match the circuit, an error will be reported. When the correct battery pack is inserted, normal charging will occur.
2) Precharge
If the battery pack voltage connected to the battery pack is less than 1V, it indicates that the battery is discharged too much. It needs to be started after a low current start to prevent damage to the battery. Pre-charging requires a current of 100 mA, and fast charging is performed when the single-cell voltage is greater than 1V.
3) Fast charging
If the voltage of the battery pack connected to the battery pack is already greater than 1V, it indicates that the battery has passed the precharge threshold and can be rapidly charged. Fast charging requires the current to be controlled at 250mA. During the fast charging process, it is necessary to periodically detect the battery voltage and charging current, detect the battery voltage -v or 0△V, and jump to supplement.
4) Supplementary fee
Fast charging has been used to charge battery voltages to 1.3V or higher at high currents. If fast charging is used, the temperature of the battery will rise rapidly. Need to change to a smaller current to supplement. At this time, the current is controlled at 200mA. Make up for 20 minutes of charging time, and skip to trickle charging after charging.
5) Trickle charging
In order to make up for the self-discharge of the battery, it enters the trickle charge after charging. The trickle charge current is 40mA. After entering trickle charging, the indicator light is off. When the user removes the battery, it will enter the next charging cycle.
6) Battery removal detection
After entering charging, the will continue with the battery removal test. After detecting that the battery has been removed, it will enter the next charging cycle.
