Italian designer Gimmo Etro launched the ETRO line as a textile house in 1968 and originally gained popularity by producing superb fabrics in intricate prints, a tradition that was carried over when the company expanded into ready-to-wear in the 1990s. This breezy, tissue-thin silk caftan is woven with various Asian motifs in pastel colors of mostly green, purple, coral, and blue. The caftan has wide sleeves with wide cuffs, and the components of the dress are emphasized with black silk edging.
