NASA Apollo Lunar Module Flight Hardware Gold Thermal Radiation Meteorite Shield.

An ORIGINAL *FLIGHT* Nasa KSC Apollo Exterior Lunar Module Spacecraft Gold Thermal Blanket.

This ARTIFACT is an actual spare piece from an Apollo LM spacecraft.

There are an amazing SEVENTEEN Layers the are designed to protect critical parts of the Lunar Landing Spacecraft from thermal radiation, including protection for the two Apollo Astronauts.

Several sheets are sputtered with Extremely (99.99%) Pure layers of GOLD, while other sheets are Aluminized Mylar with a number of woven white purely insulative layers.

The Metal GOLD is one of the best reflectors of Infrared Radiation.

The basic dimensions are approximately: 2.45inches by 2.2 inches square.

The Grumman Aircraft Company (GAC) designed and constructed the item to withstand the extreme space and Lunar Environment.

A NASA Kennedy Space Center Engineer purchased this Spacecraft Artifact at the KSC Ransom Road Facility back in the 1970's.

Two reference photographs feature the location of the same type of thermal radiation shielding used on the exterior of the Apollo LM Spacecraft.

**The Last reference Photo illustrates the multiple layers designed to thermally and physically protect the LM  from Radiation and Micro-meteorite impact.**
