Here is a rare opportunity for a private buyer to own, what I believe is, an amazing bit of air military history.

We have a wooden case that has been made to fit various pieces of camera equipment which looks to be possibly for air military use, with its inclusion of telephoto lenses etc.. The handle on the case is of super strong construction and the catches are tension lock. The black covering looks to be of some kind of hide. The case is finished with brass corners. There are no identifying markings on the case that I can see, though as yet I haven’t cleaned up the brass.

The only other marks other than known photographic brands is a hand painted monogram on a lens cover. Bearing the initials JB.

Apart from the make up of the kit which leads me to believe it is Air or Field Military related is the broad arrow mark on one of the lenses. Shown close up on one photo.

This is a bespoke kit made up of components from various sources and countries over a period of different years. The Welta camera looks to have been modified for roll film, please see the photos, other parts are Eastman Kodak retailed in Bournemouth. It comes with a Compur shutter with a Rodenstock lens. There is also a Dallmeyer Popular Telephoto lens and other filters and lenses which are Wratten and more Rodenstock.

All of the equipment seems to be in remarkable condition given its presumed history, and as you can see by the photos we have managed to piece together the main camera body and all seems to work well and the bellows are in good condition.

There is a shade cloth included. This does have a couple of holes in it, as it is quite fragile cloth. There is also a tripod which is extendable and seems to fit well in the box, but this was found outside of the case with other vintage photographic and darkroom pieces. I have lots more items to be listed as I go through it all. There are more lenses that could be related so please let me know if you think there should be something.
