Hardcover bound in midnight blue leather. Silver gilt titles to spine and silver gilt pictorials to front and back boards. Silver gilt page edges. Boards are smooth and clean. Spine is straight. Hinges are taut. Text block is firm. Lower head cap has an ever so slight rub to corner, yet overall exterior is pristine.

Interior is immaculate. Pages are bright and crisp. No markings, tears, foxing, or soiling. No toning or wrinkles present.  Illustrations to endpapers are vibrant. The fold-out illustration of the Jackal's custom-built rifle described in the novel and the endpaper maps were especially commissioned from artist Walter Hortens for this edition.
