Description: You are buying an antique folk art hooked rug made right here in Michigan.  I purchased this rug from the maker's daughter who was moving in to assisted living at 78 years of age.  She mentioned that her mother made it and was very proud of it.  Circa is 1920s, this hand made rug is stunning with vibrant stylized red flowers. The back ground is made from multi design feed sacks and gives it depth and character. It measures  56" x 34". There is some damage on the edges and one repair done in the center as shown.

My guess is that the flowers are an indigenous great lakes flower called the Prairie Lily.  The stylized cross on the pots is reminiscent of the Knight's Templar.  Very cool symbolic great lakes rug that has lasted a century!

Condition: Fair condition for being around 100 years old.  There is some damage on the edges and old repairs done in the center as shown. Could use a cleaning and a few light repairs but I will eave that up to you so that it is done to your satisfaction.
