The monetary system is an integral element of an independent state. After the proclamation of the Ukrainian People's Republic, the Ukrainian Central Rada began to create its own monetary system. Thus, March 1, 1918 was the date of birth of the hryvnia as the currency of the independent Ukrainian People's Republic. The first hryvnia banknotes appeared in circulation on April 6, 1918. These were banknotes in denominations of 25 and 50 krb.
The proposed postal issue is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the hryvnia as the national currency of Ukraine.
