ORIGINAL WWII PHOTO - ORIGINAL TO THE TIME - NOT A COPY, SCAN, OR REPRO

QUANTITY: 1 - See the other original WWI & WWII photos that I have listed.

ITEM: Original WWII Snapshot Photo of the 1st STUDENT REGIMENT, ARMORED SCHOOL DIVISION at FORT KNOX, Kentucky, circa 1943. M3 ARMORED SCOUT CARS IN MOTOR POOL.

Photo is from Sergeant Patterson who was a tank driver of the 1st Student Regiment, Armored School Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was NOT being trained at Fort Knox. He and his buddies were trainers of other tank men cycling through the Armored School.. They were like an elite German "Lehr" or "Teaching" unit. Sergeant Patterson drove an M1000 Ward LaFrance Wrecker Truck, M5 Stuart Tanks, M3A1 Lee Tanks, and M4A3 Sherman Tanks. Some were painted in German markings as "target tanks" in maneuvers with tank crews being trained in combat. Later Sergeant Patterson was apparently assigned to the 4th Armored Division fighting in the ETO from 1944-1945.
