The first Ukrainian postage stamps of the era of the liberation struggles of 1917-1921

The first series of stamps of the UPR state post office was put into circulation in July 1918. The designs for them were made by Heorhii Narbut and Antin Sereda.
An impression of a lion and the inscription “West Ukrainian People's Republic” in an octagonal frame on Austrian postage stamps of four subjects was made in Lviv on November 20, 1918.
