   Joy Purvis Petyarre is the sister of renown artist Anna Petyarre.  Joy began painting in the early 1980s . Joy primarily paints , Yam seed dreaming her works are colourful and intricate expressions of the song and stories associated Bush Yam, and its seeds that scatter from the plant that are ground up to make flour for damper.
