Alou was the 2nd overall pick of the 1986 Janurary MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played 17 MLB seasons for 7 teams, all in the National League, including 6 years with the Expos. He was a 6-time All-Star, 2-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and won a World Series with the Marlins in 1997. He finished his career with a .303 batting average, 421 doubles, 332 home runs, and 1,287 runs batted in.
