The 2-part box has been repaired and shows some wear.  There is an interesting embossed picture of Willie with his Bride on the cover.  They both look happy!

This is a reading game with a narrative and little cards with phrases to go with.

The original 16 page directions/narrative booklet is present.  The cover page (directions on reverse) was ripped and repaired with scotch tape at sometime in the long past.  The tape has yellowed and gone brown making the directions hard to read.  I was able to find a replacement page for the cover and the directions which will be included with the game.  The rest of the booklet is good and you can easily read the narrative.

Included are about 100 cardboard slips with the phrases to go along with the game.  Cards are very good.

Here is a bit of history of the game from Board Game Geek:

A card game / parlor entertainment based on the concept we know today as Mad Libs. One player, designated the "reader," reads the provided comical story with several missing phrases. The other players, among whom small cards with non-sequitur phrases have been distributed, are called upon to fill in the blanks with the phrases in their hand: "a salt mackerel," "a box of gum drops," "a long-eared donkey," etc.

The game directions do not state how the winner is determined. However, in other very similar Parker games of this kind (i.e. "How Silas Popped the Question"), the winner is the player who laughs the loudest.

The game debuted in the 1929 Parker Games catalog and seems to have been discontinued by the next edition.

Also included is an advertising card for other Parker games.
