I charged the battery from 0%, and the battery holds a charge. The charging cables work as well.

The console itself works very well. There is only one issue worth pointing out. Upon starting a game, the UMD drive is very noisy (screeches a little). PSPs are in general very loud, but this is louder than usual. It doesn’t seem to impact the ability of the system to play a game or movie. Maybe a proper cleaning would fix the issue, but I will let the buyer decide that.
