This beautiful and intricately laced hand-stitched soft ecru
Edwardian corset cover is yet another beautiful and rare piece from a
collection of apparel from a prominent Westchester family’s estate. The corset
cover was found among a number of lovingly wrapped trousseau items in a box
from a shop in Paris dated 1887. It is distinctive for its
elaborately designed embroidered and beaded dimensional lacing in fanciful
period floral motifs on its hand-stitched French Tulle body; along with its
elegant silhouette and rather coquettish open de'colletage styling (see
photos). The piece is estate fresh and in quite good vintage condition (see
photos). The corset cover measures about 38-39” around when closed in the back
with snaps hidden by small hand-laced buttons and 12” deep at it’s widest
point, in back. The lace straps measure about 16-17” (see photos).
