Kilcarra Soft Donegal Wool Knitting Yarn Tweed

Supersoft yarn from Kilcarra, the last remaining County Donegal spinner.

A very distinctive tweed yarn in 100% Merino wool with a soft handfeel. The count of the yarn is 3800NM and is suitable for 5 gauge knitting machines or multi end of heavier gauges. For hand knitting it is similar to 4 Ply. It is a singles yarn and has a slight bias when knitted. The colour is a denim blue tweed and the spinners shade reference is "Ramor".

The yarn is in oil - it's best to knit a small swatch first then gently hand wash and dry to get your course and needle count and then use this to ensure your finished article is the correct size. The weight of the yarn is 445g, minus the centre cone the weight is 415g. The postal weight including packaging is 485g.

I am as careful as possible about the photos being a good representation of colour, but colours can vary slightly from the picture. I am more than happy to send you a small sample before you buy if needed.
