VINTAGE Mud Lust Pottery handcrafted earthenware vase, artisan studio pottery, New York State Finger Lakes region, Keuka Lake

Hand-thrown and hand-painted by artist Sandra West.  Crafted in Hammondsport, NY, on the Keuka Pottery Trail, very nearby to stunning Keuka Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes region.  Ms. West's works are exhibited nationally, and are inspired by nature.  The studio features hand-thrown, hand-painted earthenware vases, platters, bowls, and tiles made to use and display.

Measurements:
Height = 8.25" tall
Diameter at rim (mouth) = 4" across
Diameter of base = 2" across

A sturdy vase with gorgeous lines and weight.  Fully hand-painted, with a small amount of texture to the dots, making it feel ever so slightly like moriage.  The base exterior color is a rich combination of red-ish browns, greys, black and whites.  The dots are white, red-ish brown, and deep green.  The inside is full deep black, and the entire piece (except for a very thin ring of the base) is high-gloss.

I purchased this vase as-is, in the late 1990s, from a gallery selling fine American craft, and have lovingly displayed the piece in my home for much of the time since then.  It's now ready for its next owner!

Very good pre-owned VINTAGE condition.  Repaired chip on rim, please see pictures.  No cracks to the clay, no crazing.  Has been loved in a clean, smoke-free, pet-free home.
