This is a small antique doll's rocking chair made in the US Northeast around 1900. It is a colonial-style slat-back or ladder-back type and is made of various woods including poplar. The chair is handmade and has an old natural nutty brown patina. It is an original piece and is unsigned. Likely home made as it is mostly whittled. If you check the photographs, you can see the jack-knife whittling marks. The finials are handsome and rather Shaker-like. The chair may represent the Colonial Revival’s period (1876-1915) that focused on early American decorative arts. I date the construction of this piece of doll’s furniture is about 1900. The construction is wire nailed. It is all original including the splint seat. The only notable damage is clearly seen in the seat, where some of the splints have given away.

Excellent original condition with the usual scratches and the note above about the splint seat.
