This is a vintage lithographed tin container in the shape of an apple, originally used as a candy container, for the Shenandoah Valley Apple Candy Co., now repurposed as a string holder. It was made by the Wyndotte Toy Co in Wyndotte, Michigan, USA, between 1900-1949. The container is signed and features an orange and red colored Apple with a green leaf. The tin Apple candy shaped lithographed tin container had its stem removed so it could be used for a household string dispenser. The string has been around for a long time. I figure that the container was made in the late 1930s and it has been used for string soon after the candy was devoured.

Rich warn patina. The candy label is almost unreadable due to the alligatoring of the paint. The exterior shows its age, while the interior is bright and shinny.

A neat country item.
