Cannondale Chase Trail/Jump Bike Large w. Lefty Fork Mavic Wheels Shimano XTR
For sale is a versatile Cannondale Chase bike with Lefty fork, Mavic 26" wheels and Shimano XTR gears and brakes, tidy condition, really nice example.
I rode this as a trail bike, I liked the compact frame (whip the saddle out and it stows nicely for transporting); geometry is not that different from the hardtails Cannondale were producing at the time, so in terms of reach wasn't dissimilar to my old F3000. Size is Large (see geometry chart). There's a nice long seat post, so you can have the saddle low or ride it more conventionally (see photos which show saddle high and low - this is not a dropper post, never felt the need for one). There's a Cannondale QR seat clamp included.
There's the inevitable marks, cable rubs, paint chips & chain slap (some of which has been carefully retouched) but nothing ugly; no dents. Matte black finish.
Lefty fork is a DLR 110 model in a grey finish, smooth in operation and working lock-out; last serviced in 2022 by TF Tuned (new seals/oil), hasn't been used much since. Coupled to the frame with a Lefty Si Stem (integrated steerer tube - you'll need the right tools if you plan to change this)). Original decals were tatty so replaced with a repro. Head bearings are fairly new and butter smooth.
Shimano XTR takes care of shifting and brake duties with STI levers in control; superb shifting with these 'brifters', brake levers also engage the XTR front and rear 9x3 derailleurs; a triple XTR crank (arms are 'as new' condition!) give superb range of options. Brakes are fitted with new resin pads and inspire confidence when engaging the new 180mm Hope rotors. All the XTR stuff is in excellent order.
26in wheels - rear is a fairly new Mavic Crossride, QR 135mm - a Hope 180mm 6 bolt rotor is fitted along with a SRAM 9 speed cassette. Front is a Mavic-rimmed (?XM319, decals have been removed) with Lefty hub - again, a Hope 180mm 6 bolt rotor is fitted. Wheels are shod with Panaracer Fire XC Pro folders (which are a little dirty but again fairly new).
Handmade in the USA, a really nice bike for the Cannondale enthusiast or someone not wanting to pay 1000's for something decent with XTR.
If you're looking you probably know your bikes and their worth. Please don't waste time by asking to buy for hundreds below asking price, such comms will be politely ignored.
