For sale is a used Pegasus R6 hardware RAID. Comes with 24 TB (6 x 4 TB (ST4000DM00-1F21) drives. These drives only have 27,357 hours of use on them (about 3.1 years continuous). Although Promise no longer officially supports this unit I have used in with an M2 mac through a Thunderbolt 2-3 adapter. You can also use it in "pass through" mode so the drives can be formatted by your OS and used however you like (software raid, or regular drives). However you do need to download and install their Promise Utility (I did so on Mac OS 14 so it still works up to that point). The 4 TB drives are the one the unit shipped with when I bought it new so they are "officially" supported to work. Other larger drives could be installed but are not "supported" (although folks on the internet have done so without problems, it's just hit or miss as to which ones work well, as they say, do your own research to figure out what works). I'm selling with the drives but if you just want the unit and no drives let me know and I can sell it alone.
