Thirty years is a long time to spend anywhere. In advertising? Too long. I won’t say I hated it, but you know. Indifference is a silent killer. So I turned my focus and talents to doing what I love, which is audio and music related things — especially tubes. As a child wanted to be an Archaeologist, like Indiana Jones. Who didn’t, right? Tubes scratch that itch for me, their complex history, the sleuthing and discovery, the forensics of identification, and the joy of being able to go back in time somehow with each tube that I find. Like sitting in front of centuries old fireplace wondering who else sat there wondering, I wonder who else has listened to the tubes that come into my world. 

I don’t write too many ads anymore, eBay listings mostly. But I sure do love writing about something I love.

Pricing

You’re absolutely right, I am not the cheapest.

Why? Because I stand behind every single tube I sell. Buying tubes is risky business, especially if you don’t do it every day. But I do. I weed out the bunk tubes, the off-balance tubes, the fake tubes, the microphonic tubes, the misrepresented tubes, the ’don’t challenge my tester’ tubes and all the rest of ‘em, too. But I’m also not infallible, which is why I have the generous return policy that I do.

I take the risk and I take the hits so you don’t have to. Simply put, you get what you pay for. You’re paying for a great tube, peace of mind, and a premium customer experience. Read my reviews. I’m not perfect. But my reviews are — because if I make a mistake, I make it right.

Think of it as a thirty-day audition. I want you to love your new tubes. Don’t like the sound? Return ‘em. Label the wrong color? Return ‘em. Found something better? Return ‘em. Spent your money for parking tickets on tubes? Return’ em. Your tester is different than my tester? Return ‘em. Don’t settle, don’t compromise, don’t be shy.

On the off-chance something isn’t right, please contact me first and give me the opportunity to make it right. I will. Buyer pays return shipping unless tube is broken, not as described, or incorrectly shipped. 

Shipping

You’re on the hook for shipping. I know, lucky you. But you have control; select from a number of different shipping options. Need it sooner? Just ask. Buyer pays return shipping, too, unless it’s my fault; e.g., the order is damaged, you received a wrong or incorrect tube, the tube flat out doesn’t work. ‘My tester doesn’t match your tester” falls into the you can return the tube but you pay return shipping category. Need combined shipping? Just ask. Need it sooner? Just ask.  I will ship internationally at my sole, completely subjective discretion. Please ask first, which means before buying or bidding if you are not in the continental United States.
