Brief Introduction

At present, high-temperature thickness measurement is mainly used in boilers, pipelines, electric power, chemical industry, gas transportation and other industries. YUSHI ultrasonic thickness gauge PM5 Gen2 can accurately detect the high-temperature operating equipment in these industries and detect the corrosion of in-service equipment. and monitor thinning conditions.

The Importance of High Temperature Thickness Measurement

Since high-temperature container generally work in high-pressure environments, and their safety testing is crucial. Under normal circumstances, the gas in a closed container rapidly expands and generates high pressure after being affected by high temperature, which will affect its safety and lifespan. In addition, the wear, corrosion and other reasons of the container itself will cause it to fail to work properly. If these problems are not discovered and dealt with in time, it will easily cause greater safety hazards and property losses, so regular inspections are necessary.

Difficulties and Solutions of High Temperature Thickness Measurement

Sound Velocity Setting

Generally, material sound velocity changes with temperature. It usually increases as the material gets colder, decreases as the material gets hotter, and changes sharply at the freezing point or melting point.

Probe selection

When using a high-temperature delay line probe, the high-temperature delay line block play a protective buffering role between the surface of the test material and the probe element. The interface echo (I-E). method is used during measurement to avoid measurement errors caused by probe temperature changes and zero point drift.

Couplant Selection

YUSHI INSTRUMENTS provides high-temperature couplant for different temperatures. These couplant can maintain stable and continuous coupling at different high temperatures with the characteristics of stability, non-corrosion, non-toxic, environmentally friendly and low smoke. High-temperature couplant are divided into 300℃, 371℃, and 550℃. Users can choose the appropriate couplant according to the temperature of the workpiece to be tested.

YUSHI PM5 Gen2 ultrasonic thickness gauge can quickly identify the measured thickness value, instantly capture and freeze it on the screen, making it easy to analyze the workpiece condition and achieve true high temperature measurement.
