Selling the below:

Apple MacBook Pro A1278 13" Laptop 8GB Ram 500gb SSD (Samsung EVO) Mid-2009

Condition - Used but in good condition and fully working.

Screen size - 13"

Colour - Silver

Memory - 8gb (2 slots used and this is the max capacity)

Hard disk - 500gb SSD

Contents - MBP mid-2009, power cable and adaptor, original box and original outer packaging box.

Great laptop which has served our family very well for the past 14 or so years.  We are selling because we have upgraded a few years back and it isn't getting the use it probably deserves.  Original we bought it with 4gb ram and 250gb HDD but it has been upgraded to max ram capacity and to an SSD for the HD.

I have replaced some parts listed below as they were intermittently not functioning properly (all replaced last month)

- Logic board
- CD/DVD optical drive
- Internal battery (cycle count is only 3 - see pic)
- trackpad
- Hard disk cable
- Power supply cable and adaptor

All the above are fully working.

Caveats/Points to note/Issues
- CD/DVD drive works fine, reads discs fine plays music/videos all good.  When ejecting it can be a tad slow to eject and sometimes get stuck but with some help it ejects fine.  The issue is with the bristles/brush that sits just behind the slot that keeps the dust out, the bristles have become a tad stiff.  I have softened them up.  I will try and find a replacement or at least advise where you can get it.  This will be easy to replace but I just haven't had enough time to do it before listing.

- Bottom left corner of the laptop has a dent and some damage to the body on the edge and also the top left side of the screen where the screen case has been dented.  No damage at all to the screen and definitely no issues with screen graphics and workings of the computer.

- Small dent on the top case of the screen, no material impact to the workings of the computer.

- Other normal wear and tear marks.

- Trackpad is fully working and the right click menu work with two fingers, I think you may be able to configure this?  I've mostly used the laptop with a plugged in mouse or a bluetooth one.  My wife and kids have always not had a problem with the trackpad.  The previous one started to play up with movement and clicking issues so the replacement has resolved all that.

- Screen appears to show a few dead pixels in the bottom left area (added a couple of pics to try and illustrate this) on the startup grey screen but when you log on and thereafter, there's no sign of them and no impact to the graphics and screen.

I've put a fresh install of MacOS El Capitan v10.11.6 on the machine.  I have created a user already.  It has been installed with UK settings.  You can re-install or create a new admin user and remove the one I created.

SSD is 500gb in capacity and is a Samsung EVO.

It take roughly 12-13 seconds from the time you switch on the machine to the password prompt.

Tested with wifi and Lan/ethernet cable connection.

SD card reader works fine as do the USB and other ports.  Will be sad to see it go but it still has a lot of life in it yet.
