Maria Anna Angelica KAUFFMANN (1741 - 1807)

My Watercolour drawing and ink is 1774 "In memory of General Stanwix's daughter who was lost in her passage from Ireland" 

Grey wash drawing, inscribed  34.5cm x 26.5cm  (13.5" x 10.5)

This drawing was a popular one for KAUFFMANN with at least 3 others slightly different in (1767 and 1777) see below

titles include "The girl at the urn" and "Stephanie Louis de Bourbon Conti, weeping over the ashes of her father (1776)"

Kauffmanns handwriting is the giveaway, she has a very distinct hand and loves an inscription, her F's Y's S's and especially D's are hers alone - (Handwriting examples below)
