This is a stupid rare 1998 Gibson SG-Z guitar in Platinum finish. They only made this model for two years. The last few sold on Reverb for $2500 and $3000. I’m am pricing this much lower because the previous owner got very creative with paint on the back of the guitar.
The neck pickup is the factory stacked humbucker, which is stock. The bridge pickup is an early pre-2004 Burstbucker Pro. Great pickup, better sounding than the stock 500T these came with. Sound and playability are still great on this. Frets have some grooving but since they are very tall frets, it’s still quite playable. Fret perfectionists would want to do a level. These have a slim fully bound neck with ebony fretboard, lighting bolt headstock inlay, double diamond neck inlays, and tune-o-matic bridge with string-thru design. Tuners and all other parts appear factory stock.
Basically this is a chance to get a very rare model for hundreds less than going rate. The paint on back might be able to be removed but it feels pretty permanent. There are some superficial chipping/cracks around the nut but they are not going anywhere. very solid. Weight is 7 pounds, 11 ounces. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks for looking.
