This Copper Chalkous coin was issued under king Peroz I Kushanshah (circa 260-290 AD) of the Kingdom of Kushano-Sasanians in Central Asia.

The Numista rarity index of Numista-82323, is "95".  It is a hard to get coin, but the index of "95" is too high, I think.    Corroded.

Kushano-Sasanian Kingdom is a historiographic term used by modern scholars to refer to branch of the Sasanian who established their rule in Bactria during 3rd

and 4th century CE at the expense of the declining Kushans.  They captured the provinces of Sogdiana, Bactria and Gandhara from the Kushans in 225 CE.

The Sasanians established governors for Sasanian Empire, who minted their own coinage and took the title of Kushanshahs, i.e. "Kings of the Kushans".

They are sometimes considered as forming a "sub-kingdom" inside Sasanian Empire.  This administration continued until 360-370 CE. when the Kushano-Sasanians

lost much of its domains to the invading Kidarite Huns, whilst the rest was incorporated into the imperial Sasanian Empire.  The Kushanshahs are mainly known through

their coins.  Their coins were minted at Kabul, Balkh, Herat, and Merv, attesting the extent of their realm.  A rebellion of Hormazd I Kushanshah (277-286 CE), who

issued coin with the title Kushashahanshah ("King of kings of the Kushans"), seems to have occurred against comtemporary Emperor Bahram II (Varhran II, 276-293 CE)

of the Sasanian Empire, but failed.     The capital of the kingdom was Balkh City.

I will attach a share free portrait of " Kushano-Sasanian ruler Hormizd I Kushanshah in Kushan style", and a share free map of "The domains governed by the

Kushano-Sasanian Kingdom".  Balkh City, the capital of the kingdom, was located at (36.7682, 66.9007) in the google location system.  I will attach some photos of

the ruined city from the google map system and from the google street view system.
