Vintage Double Burr Walnut Tantalus & Pair of Crystal Cut Glass Decanters

This is a pair of intricate crystal-cut glass patterned decanters, with cut glass stoppers.
  
The decanters come encased in their original burr walnut tantalus with black trim and a brass handle.

The tantalus has a magnetic drop-down front


Tantalus such as this one would have been used to put alcohol on show within wealthy families, without unauthorized people being able to steal it.
