Kit (3B471) consisting of flint glass bell jar(3F271) and  gum rubber gasket (3D271) used in Model GVAC3 from Bell Vacuum.  The bell jar is inspected under full vacuum with gum rubber gasket to verify its original condition before leaving our facility.

The white vacuum pump plate is not included with kit (3B471).

The vacuum rated bell jar is made of molded, thick walled, annealed flint glass. Flint glass* offers all round visibility of material inside bell jar. The internal dimensions of the bell jar are 8.75 in.(22.2 cm) height to top inside radius and 5 in.(12.7 cm) diameter(refer to photo with dimensions). Volume of bell jar is 2.6 Liter (0.7 gal).  Ground glass base flange creates vacuum tight seal to gasket on vacuum pump plate on model GVAC3. Molded knob on jar top for easy handling.

The flat gasket creates the vacuum tight seal between the vacuum bell jar and a flat vacuum pump plate.  The gasket has a nominal 7.5 in. OD and 4.5 in. ID.

If you are making your own vacuum pump plate (or buying one) to use with this replacement bell jar, use this gasket to provide seal between ground base of bell jar to your plate.  Using only vacuum grease as sealant is not recommended.  Unless the plate is precision ground 100% flat(▱ .004 in.),, a configuration with vacuum grease only as sealant will stress the bell jar base under full vacuum and risk damaging the bell jar.


* Molded flint glass may show small imperfections. These imperfections, tiny spheres or surface blemishes, form during molding process and do not impact use in full vacuum applications.
