Nicely detailed vintage redhead Duck decoy.  Signed LR for Lloyd "Smitty" Roper (1925-2004) Decatur Illinois

Very nicely carved and painted with nice texture to head and breast area.  Stands roughly 10" tall.  Nice overall condition see pics.

His biography as summerized in his Obituary:

Lloyd Roper was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country in many of the major battles of the war on an LST 551 as a gunner's mate. Mr. Roper was a dispatcher for Illinois Power for 42 years, was auction chair for DU for many years, director emeritus of Macon County Conservation, and an avid duck hunter and trout fisherman. One of his passions was carving and he loved woodworking and sharing his talents with those he loved.

Great looking decoy!
