April 1931 (Vol. LXIII, No. 4)

Note that this description applies to all of my listed issues of Architecture magazine, though the details in the second paragraph differ depending on the issue, as does the Condition Description.

Architecture, published by Charles Scribner's Sons, represented one of only a handful of publications dedicated to the field in the early 20th century. Debuting in 1900, it extended over 400 issues before being discontinued in 1936. Each issue featured notable architects, many of whom are now remembered as influential figures in American design, as well as new projects and buildings, trends, and even blueprints. As Architecture had a fairly narrow audience compared to most magazines of the time, few copies survive today, particularly in this condition.

This particular issue from April 1931 features the architectural firm Maginnis and Walsh, best known for the numerous churches and schools that they designed, including Boston College. Their work is said to have inspired many of the subsequent Ivy League towers. The remainder of the issue echoes their style, focusing on churches, altars, and features that rely on intricately carved terra-cotta.

All items are packaged carefully with sufficient protection to ensure they reach you safely.

Any items that exceed $100 in value, excluding those in limited categories such as books and magazines, will be covered by additional insurance in the full sale amount at no cost to the buyer.
Returns Returns are accepted within 30 days following the date of purchase. In cases in which an item does not match the description or does not work as stated, a full refund will be issued, including the original and return shipping costs. However, in cases in which you wish to return an item for other reasons, or if an item was listed "as is" in the description, note that only the purchase cost will be refunded. The original shipping cost and the return shipping cost will be the responsibility of the buyer.
