I have here for sale three books entitled A DESCRIPTION OF ENGLAND AND WALES containing a particular Account of each County, Vol V, VI and VII. These three volumes in the series were published by Newbery and Carnan, London in 1769. Vol V covers Huntingdonshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire and has 27 b/w plates; Vol VI covers the rest of Lincolnshire, Middlesex, Monmouthshire, Montgomeryshire and Norfolk and has 18 b/w plates; and Vol VII covers the rest of Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Pembrokeshire and has 34 b/w plates, so there is a total of 79 plates across the 3 volumes.
Full calf leather hardboards with 5 raised bands, a blind stamped title block and gilt volume number to each volume. Slightly chipped to head and tail. One corner worn. A few marks to the leather, but all boards firm. Some light foxing here and there. A few pages detaching in Vol VII. Vol V - 288 pages, Vol VI - 288 pages and Vol VII - 284 pages. Condition overall: good/very good. 17 x 11 cm.
