This coat was made for my mother by my grandmother. It dates to at least the 1940s and possibly the 1930s. The boxy shape strikes me as a car coat in style.

It is fully lined, but the lining needs repair (or possibly replacement if you have the skill). The shell buttons are original.
There are two patch pockets on the front which need to be stitched back down to the body of the jacket - a very simple repair. The buttonholes need to be resewn. There is no back vent.

The length of the jacket from shoulder seam to hem is 29". From armpit to armpit across the back is 21".

I am unsure of the outer fabric, but it is likely wool. The lining is probably rayon or rayon crepe, which was popular and commonly used in that era. But I can't say for certain. It's just a guess.

I'm hoping this vintage jacket finds the right person out there to give it the love and extended life it deserves.
