This is an updated amendment to the previous description.

I have been contacted by the author of studies of MARPLES PLANES who informs me that this plane isn’t a Marples plane, despite it having a a MARPLES iron ,

There is a similar logo to Marples stamped on the back of but on closer examination isn’t the MARPLES LOGO.

I have looked through GOODMANS book of English plane makers since 1700 and I can’t find any references to the logo,

Maybe some vintage plane collector might recognise the logo attached is a close up..

Not wishing to mislead any potential buyer I am listing it as a well made vintage circumference plane of unknown origin,

The foliage imprint in the middle of the heel will therefore remain a mystery,

Apologies for the previous erroneous description ,but was given in good faith for WHAT I believed was a MARPLES PLANE.

Despite the ambiguity. It remains a clean well made plane.
