Magnificent English art deco sterling silver timepiece, key .

What a truly decadent item. Have you ever seen one before, I know I haven’t, I wonder if it was for a commission, originally designed I guess to be suspended from a watch chain for some dandy or other, a most modern interpretation of the standard pocket watch and a front door key! - all original!

Beautifully made with a very crisp engine turned design. Hallmarked for London 1938. The timepiece itself is Swiss "crusader" and appears to be in great working order but I haven’t tested it over prolonged periods. The outer glass stands square and proud of the case, further emphasising its deco appeal- a really well thought out design. It dates to 1938 and is fully hallmarked for Sampson Morgan. Dimensions 3 " length x 0.5" wide x 0.25" deep. Truly a one off and certainly not to be missed.
