OUTSTANDING Vintage 1950s Resistol Stratoliner, Beaver 15 (this is a Vintage Beaver 15! Nothing like today’s beaver, read below!). This is a size 7-1/8. Color is SilverBelly.
This is just a BEAUTIFUL FEDORA! The bound brim edge makes this look like an exact duplicate of the Stetson Stratoliner! This has been steam shaped into this pinched crown, diamond shaped crown with a perfect dip in the front brim. The front brim can be flipped up or down.
This is a REAL LOOKER! And so Rare to ever find anything like this Hat anywhere anymore!
This is so very rare to ever find these hats anymore! This was made at a time way before HATCO too over Resistol. You can see the Byer-Rolnick name on this hat! Just a one of a kind, beautiful SilverBelly color and the fedora shaping is perfect!
You can see that this is a 1950s because of the liner design (with thin plastic overlay) and logo.
This is a SilverBelly color as seen in the picture looking down from the top of the hat is the best representation of the color. It’s a few shades darker but that was the closest one.
This was cleaned and shaped by my grandson and dad! This looks great with a perfect dip in the front. He’s been working with dad over the last couple of years and now wants to find hats for others, he wants everyone to wear hats and here is his contribution to that cause!
NOTE: that Original Resistol oval box is included in this sale. Still in good condition! Some minor paper wear, with the original hat holding insert set. Great to store the hat inside, display and well worth the extra shipping cost. If you do want the hat box shipping is $29.20 but you must write to us before buying the hat so we may change the weight and dimensions and shipping cost. Shipping without the hat box is only $19.20.
Shipping outside the continental USA is without the hat box. It’s to expensive. If you do want the hat box you must write to us before buying the hat! Be prepared to spend another $60 plus dollars at least for the shipping.
We took out dad’s collection of 1950s Stetson Beaver hats: 3X, Ten, Fifteen, Twenty and TwentyFive. The Beaver 15 was a perfect match to this great fedora. Extremely soft and pliable! And so easy to work with!
The beaver is EXTREMELY soft and thick. We have seen and touched the NEW a Resistol & Stetson Presidente Beaver 100 hats and there is just a HUGE difference between these old vintage Beaver hats and the newer ones! We find the newer ones to be extremely stiff! They feel like there is a thin plastic form that they spray with beaver. It is just not the same! You just don’t find hats like this anymore! We can only think of one hat maker that even comes close. That would be OPTIMO Custom hats, in Chicago.

There is a size tag that states size 7-1/8 and we actually measure each hat 3 times to verify its size. This was manufactured at a time when there was NO hat sizing standardization. This actually measures to a 7-1/8++ at 22-1/2 inches. A perfect size 7-1/8 is 22-3/8 inches and a perfect size 7-1/4 is 22-3/4 inches. So this is a fraction over midway. Any decent Amazon hat stretcher will be able to stretch this to a 7-1/4. It just takes time and patience.
