Synopsis

Japan has seen a record low in terrorist attacks, thanks to the efforts of a clandestine group called Direct Attack (DA). The organization trains orphaned girls as assassins through their "Lycoris" program, and Takina Inoue is one of their top operatives. Known for her unwavering dedication and perfectionism, Takina's career with DA takes a turn when she is transferred after a hostage situation tests her patience, leading to insubordination.

Takina is sent to LycoReco, a cafe disguised as her new base of operations. She is partnered with Chisato Nishikigi, a renowned Lycoris prodigy who seems uninterested in her duties. Chisato involves Takina in various tasks, from helping people in need to taking down armed assailants without killing them. This behavior leaves Takina feeling out of place, as she longs to return to DA. However, Chisato is determined to show Takina that there is more to life than just taking lives.
