This is a beautiful silk from around 1890-1910 featuring Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey. In the late 1800s through the early 1900s, tobacco manufacturers often put silks or cards featuring various subjects in with their products to give their customers an interesting and sometimes useful little extra. These silks often were sewn together for patch quilts, pasted into scrapbooks, and other creative uses. This silk is in very good condition, as seen in the photos, and the colors are still rich and vibrant. It has no odor.
The silk measures approximately 1 3/4 x 3 1/8 inches.
It will be packed with heavy cardboard for protection.
