David Wahl Ikea Sprida Projector Lamp Red Vintage Retro Space Age

The lamp has a removable slide holder inside. (only the blue gel is included but you could make other colours from coloured plastic or use your own 35mm slides)

Measures approx 25cm long x 19cm wide. Height is adjustable by rotating the legs. Lens rotates to focus the projected image.

The Ikea Sprida is a chunky, fun spotlight from Ikea. It can be used as a spotlight, or a projector and it includes slides of different colour gels to play with & set different mood lighting. The 'legs' are movable. There is a slide section which you pull out to load the colour palettes, or your own old fashioned photograph slides, should you wish.

David Wahl was an industrial designer before joining IKEA in 2010. As well as the projector lamp, David Wahl designed another three products for the IKEA PS collection 2014. He remembers it as a long and challenging design process: “At IKEA we have a concept called Democratic Design, which every product has to live up to in terms of form, function, sustainability, quality and price. It’s a way of making sure we always offer high-quality design for the many people.”
