One of the most iconic watches produced by Vostok.

The Albatross ?Radio Room? was meant for Navy (and merchant navy) radio operators, and its dial design is a representation of how maritime communications were rethought after the Titanic?s tragedy.

In two different shades of red there are 3 minutes sections every quarter when radio silence is enforced, listening for any distress messages (voice frequencies in light red, morse code frequencies in dark red). On the seconds track there are 4 seconds markings at 5 seconds intervals to help the operator send ?Mayday? alarm signals accurately in accordance to the International Telecommunication Convention.

A beautifully graphic design with a clear purpose behind it.

(This is an original Radio Room, not a reproduction.)

This is a first generation piece, with its characteristic and unique red labeled 2409A movement, manufactured only during the first quarter of 1990. It sports an antimagnetic shield. Its a Vostok Amphibia in its technical characteristics, with a stainless steel 470 case, crystal with retention ring, 200m water resistance, etc..

It's in fine condition overall, with some age showing in the hands.

It still has the original crystal (with a slightly lower profile shape than the current design).

Working perfectly.
