1998 Eurovision Song Contest winning entry for Israel, "Diva" by Dana International. CD Maxi 5 track disc.
The 43rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 9 May 1998 at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Twenty-five countries participated in the contest. Dana International was the contest's first openly transgender participant and became the contest's first openly LGBTQ+ winning artist; however, her participation for Israel was controversial among sections of Israeli society. The single was a UK No.11 hit and also charted in many other European countries.
The UK entry "Where Are You?", performed by Imaani Saleem (better known as simply Imaani) finished second, just 6 points behind the winner. It would be the UK's closest chance to win again for over 20 years.
