I have here for sale a book entitled CLAUDII CLAUDIANI SCRIPTORIS PRAEGLORIOSISSIMI QUAE EXTANT CASPAR BARTHIUS Amplius libris manuscriptis Emendauit et Animaduersionibus longo locupletio ribus illustrauit.  Published by Johann Naumann in Hamburg in 1650.  The Works of Claudian, the Roman poet including Panegyricus Animadversiones, Stilicho, Bellum Gildonicum, De Raptu Proserpinae, Epigrammata and much more.  Illustrated title page, chapter headers and capital letters.  Commentary by Kaspar von Barth.  There is a signature to the text only title page which is for Johann Albert Fabricius (1668-1736), the German bibliographer and library cataloguer.  His numerous books included "Bibliotheca Graeca" and "Bibliotheca Latina" (note tucked into the book to this effect).

Full vellum hardboards with title and author handwritten in black ink to the spine. Vellum darkened. Fore-edges of the boards are folded over the text block. Signature to title page.  Foxing throughout.  Binding firm. (63), 111, (8),  1371 (29) pages, 21 cm x 17 cm.

Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK.  If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money. We wrap and post the parcels on Monday and Tuesday - therefore if you pay before midday on Tuesday we will get it in the postal sacks on Tuesday night, and if it is after that time then it will go into the postal service on the following Monday.
